Weighing in at over 40 tonnes and with oversized dimensions, these rigs, destined for Durban, had to be handled in various legs with different modes of transportation involved. Globalink’s team was onsite at the mining field to arrange and supervise the loading and subsequent lashing of these rigs. Cranes and forklifts were arranged for the loading process onto special lowbed and flat track trailers for the long journey (180km to the Georgian border and then an additional 350km to the Black Sea Port of Poti, Georgia). |

Tuesday, 07 April 2009 |
In an extremely challenging project, PPG Canada, IceCorp Projects, and Jordan, Seven Seas Shipping and Transport Company, has successfully concluded a major shipment of Girder Cranes and accessories from Canada and USA to Iraq. The negotiations between seller and buyer lasted about two years after the terms of shipping and letter of credit requirements did not really meet reality. It took quite a time to get test certificates issued and bookings were constantly deferred as a result of these complex issues. The final carrier choice was Wallenius Wilhelmsen who had vessels over booked to that region several months ahead and any changes and delays threw the schedule even further behind. |

The movie plot entailed an ancient struggle that re-erupts on Earth between two extraterrestrial clans, the heroic Autobots and the evil Decepticons, with a clue to the ultimate power held by a young teenager.
