PPG China Deliver Huge Ship Building Blocks
oks1.jpgPPG member for China, Shanghai Ocean Knight Shipping has successfully concluded the transportation of 12 units ship building blocks. The total shipment comprised 5,560cbm-484tonnes from JiangYin port, JiangSu province, China to a ship building plant in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The largest unit dimensions were L14.2m - W18.4m - H6.1m, with units ranging from 17.7 to 68.5 tonnes.

oks3.jpgThe 12 units were moved by a river barge from the factory to Jiangyin port alongside the ship. Ocean Knight’s services included loading from barge to ship by floating crane (6 units under deck + 6 units on deck), on board lashing and securing, ocean transport and unloading the cargo onto waiting trailers at Koahsiung Port. The loading operation at Jiangyin commenced in the afternoon of April 28th and after completion of loading, the cargo lashing/securing operation on board the vessel was completed on April 30th. The 12 units were well stowed and secured on board and the vessel departed fm Jiangyin port on May 1st and arrived Kaohsiung port on May 5th. After vessel arrive Kaohsiung port, the unloading operation of 12 units by floating crane was commenced on May 6th and completed the same day
