PPG China Ship Huge Ship Blocks |
PPG member for China, Shanghai Ocean Knight Shipping, Inc, has successfully concluded the transportation for total 9pcs (Total: 6,983.34cbm, 831.5tonnes) of ship blocks fm JiangYin Port, JiangSu province, China. The blocks are scheduled to arrival at a ship-building plant in Kaohsiung, Taiwan on 6 July, 2008.

The shipper delivered the 9pcs by a river barge from the factory to Jiangyin port alongside the ship. Ocean Knight’s services included loading from the barge onto the ship by floating crane; lashingand securing on board the ship; seafreight transport to Kaohsiung port; and unloading at the private berth of the ship building plant in Kaohsiung. The loading operation at Jiangyin commenced on 26 June. After completion of loading, the cargo lashing/securing operation on board the barge was completed on 28 June. The 9pcs were well stowed and secured on board the barge; finally the barge departed fm Jiangyin port on 29 June and arrived Kaohsiung on 6 July. After vessel arrived Kaohsiung, the unloading operation of 9pcs by floating crane commenced on 7 July and completed the same day.
