Over dimensional cargo freight forwarders are being urged to take a strategic approach to training and register key employees for the Certificate of Achievement in Project Cargo Management available during Breakbulk Americas in Houston from October 12-14 at the George R. Brown Convention Center.

Anyone interested in enhancing or fast tracking their heavy-lift, freight forwarding management skills is invited to attend the training course to be run over two days from October 14-15.

Trainer, Kevin Stephens, with over 35 years international industry experience, said the availability of specialized training for the project cargo sector had been historically neglected and now was the time for companies to consider training as a key strategy to gear up for new business opportunities.

“Specialized training is a very effective way of boosting job performance and as the global market for project cargo strengthens it is vital for companies to take a strategic look at if they have the personnel with the relevant high-quality skills to meet the needs of their clients,” Mr Stephens said.

Part of the training also involves improving essential business communication skills delivered by lecturer and communication strategist Rodger Hall. This training focuses on producing clear and concise documents, convincing and credible business correspondence, and tenders or requests for proposals that go to the top of the pile and inspire action and produce results.

The Certificate is offered through a joint venture initiative between the JoC Breakbulk Conferences (a division of UBM Global Trade) and international overdimensional 3PL network, Project Professionals Group, with the help of sponsorship support from the Port of Corpus Christi.

Further information about the training, including registration is available from the Breakbulk Americas event site at www.joc.com/events or via the education course link at www.ppgprojects.com
