Almajdouie Logistics took home two awards at the Supply Chain & Transport Awards (SCATA).
Almajdouie Logistics Company (MLC) won the 2016 ‘Logistics Project of the Year’ award for overcoming challenges in moving oversized break-bulk cargo for the development of Jazan Economic City. The award honoured MLC’s continuous investments in overland transportation and in preparing staff for the future. MLC raised the benchmark for excellence by using Oracle Transportation Management (OTM), a niche solution under the Oracle Value Chain Execution umbrella.
PPG has further expanded its membership base with the recent appointment of CIM Shipping Inc. in Pakistan; Shermans Logistics (Pvt) Ltd. In Sri Lanka; and Mexx Global Logistics (Bahrain) in Bahrain.
Vantage Logistics Corp. has successfully delivered 8 huge beer tanks from Da Nang port to jobsite in Quang Nam (distance: 45 km). Dimensions 19.00mL x 6.200mW x 6.200mH x 26 tons. Due to their size, night time transportation only was negotiated and licenses were also received to move many electrical wires and cut tree branches en route.
Vantage Logistics Corp. have safely and efficiently delivered a CO2 membrane skid and accessories from fabrication yard in Vung Tau to liner out Singapore. Vantage Logistics used their own 10 axles hydraulic trailer to move from fabrication yard to FAS. Overall dimensions 10.00mL x 5.00mW x 7.80mH x 81 tons.
Vantage Logistics Corp., Vietnam (A founding PPG member) have successfully concluded the transportation of CKD Crane Parts from Ex Works Houston including packaging, USA to door Vung Tau, Viet Nam. Overall colume 1,032 Revenue Tonnes. This was a joint venture service with Trans Project, USA (also a founding PPG member).
Royal Cargo has coordinated the transport of heavy and oversize equipment, including two ship unloaders, for the 165 MW coal-fired Balingasag power plant in Misamis Oriental, the Philippines. The consignment included two huge ship unloaders, weighing 565 tonnes each and measuring 22.5 m x 18.5 m x 59.58 m, which were shipped to the Balingasag jetty from Zhangjiang in China. Royal Cargo handled unloading operations at the jetty, and offloaded the heavy units to the quayside rails using a crane barge.
The PPG ISO Accredited education program was once again successfully held in Shanghai for the 5th consecutive year, 14-15 March 2016. The program was rated by all participants as another outstanding success. Participants attended from U.K., Philippines, Iraq and China. PPG education programs are recognised as the world's leading educator in project forwarding and is receiving deserved recognition from the global community. With over 460 participants from 94 countries over the past seven years.
Project Professionals Group will celebrate its decennial anniversary at its annual conference in the world’s most liveable city Melbourne, Australia in 2017.
Members had attended PPG annual conferences in every continent except Australia and the group’s 10th anniversary would be a fitting occasion to host the event in Melbourne. Many of our current members have been part of PPG since day one and celebrating our 10th anniversary is a significant milestone for our network.
